⚔ The Gauntlet & Prifddinas ⚔
The Gauntlet is a solo activity located in Prifddinas. Upon entering, your normal equipment and inventory are stored temporarily and you are placed inside a randomly generated dungeon with only the basic tools required to begin.
You will have a limited amount of preparation time in which you can explore rooms, gather resources, defeat crystalline creatures and sing equipment at the Singing Bowl. Once sufficiently prepared, you must enter the central chamber and defeat the Hunllef.
The
Regular Gauntlet provides ten minutes of preparation time and culminates in a fight against the Crystalline Hunllef.
The
Corrupted Gauntlet provides seven minutes and thirty seconds of preparation time. Its creatures are stronger, its resources are corrupted and the Corrupted Hunllef is considerably more dangerous. Unlike OSRS, a Regular Gauntlet completion is not required before attempting the Corrupted Gauntlet.
Both versions are available immediately from the Gauntlet lobby.
Warning for Hardcore Ironmen:
The Gauntlet is an unsafe activity for Hardcore Ironmen. Your normal equipment is protected by the activity, but dying inside will cause you to lose your Hardcore status. Hardcore Ironmen will receive an additional warning before entering.
The Hunllef
The Crystalline and Corrupted Hunllef have received their intended combat mechanics.
The Hunllef alternates between ranged and magic attacks, periodically disables prayers and changes its protection prayer based on the attacks used against it. Players must adapt their combat style while avoiding the dangerous floor patterns and tornadoes that appear throughout the fight.
Its attacks and hazards include:
- Alternating ranged and magic attacks
- Protection-prayer switching
- Prayer-disabling attacks
- Damaging floor patterns
- Pursuing tornadoes
- Stomp damage when standing underneath it
- Armour-dependent incoming damage
The effectiveness of Gauntlet armour is determined by the combined tiers of the helm, body and legs. Mixed armour sets therefore provide appropriate protection according to their total armour tier rather than requiring three identical pieces.
Regular and Corrupted completions, deaths and personal-best times are recorded separately and can be viewed from the scoreboard in the lobby.
⚒ Preparation and crafting ⚒
Resources can be collected throughout the dungeon and used at the Singing Bowl to create armour, weapons and supplies.
The Tool Storage in the starting room will replace any basic tool you no longer have, including your sceptre, axe, pickaxe, harpoon, and pestle and mortar.
The Crystal Singing Recipes and Egniol Potions objects provide instructions explaining the available recipes and potion-making process.
The Singing Bowl can be used to create:
- Basic, attuned and perfected armour
- Basic, attuned and perfected halberds
- Basic, attuned and perfected bows
- Basic, attuned and perfected staves
- Teleport crystals
- Empty vials
- Crystal and corrupted paddlefish
- Escape crystals
Egniol potions can be made by filling an empty vial, adding a Grym leaf and combining the unfinished potion with crystal dust.
A functional Bank Deposit Box has also been added to the lobby.
Items dropped inside the Gauntlet remain on the floor for the entire duration of the instance. They are removed when the instance terminates.
Gauntlet rewards
After an attempt, rewards can be claimed from the chest in the lobby.
Successful runs provide guaranteed Crystal shards and uncut onyxes alongside several rolls on a supply table. The Corrupted Gauntlet provides more rolls, larger quantities and improved unique rates.
Possible regular rewards include:
- Crystal shards
- Uncut onyxes
- Crystal keys
- Astral, Cosmic and Death runes
- Saradomin, Guthix and Zamorak arrows
- Uncut dragonstones
- Mithril ore and bars
- Rings of recoil
- Super antifire potions
- Overloads and other high-level supplies
Most non-stackable rewards are delivered in noted form so players do not need to bank after every few completions.
Clue scrolls remain unnoted. If you have unlocked the corresponding clue-scroll box, the clue will automatically be placed inside one instead.
Regular Gauntlet unique rates:
Crystal weapon seed — 1/50
Crystal armour seed — 1/50
Enhanced crystal weapon seed — 1/400
Blood shard — 1/150
Youngllef — 1/500
Corrupted Gauntlet unique rates:
Crystal weapon seed — 1/30
Crystal armour seed — 1/30
Enhanced crystal weapon seed — 1/200
Blood shard — 1/75
Youngllef — 1/300
The Gauntlet cape is awarded upon the first successful Corrupted Gauntlet completion if you do not already own one.
Youngllef can be transformed between its Crystalline and Corrupted forms after completing the Corrupted Gauntlet.
Failed attempts only provide consolation loot after meaningfully engaging the Hunllef and dealing at least 10% of its health. Entering and immediately leaving will not award a consolation reward.
All reward transfers are logged.
Combat Achievements
The Gauntlet now has dedicated Combat Achievements for both difficulties.
These include:
- Combined Regular and Corrupted completion milestones
- Corrupted completion milestones
- Completing a run without making armour
- Completing a run without making an Egniol potion
- Completing a run after making no more than one attuned weapon
- Regular and Corrupted speed runs
- Defeating the Hunllef in perfected armour
- Avoiding all off-prayer damage
- Perfect Crystalline and Corrupted Hunllef encounters
A Perfect Crystalline Hunllef kill requires avoiding floor, tornado and stomp damage.
A Perfect Corrupted Hunllef kill additionally requires avoiding off-prayer damage and not attacking with the wrong combat style.
When a Combat Achievement is failed, its failure message will only be displayed once during that run.
Crystal Singing Bowl
The Singing Bowl in Prifddinas now has a new chatbox crafting interface.
Rather than displaying every possible recipe, the interface only displays items for which you currently have the necessary materials. Up to three items are shown per page, with arrow buttons available whenever additional pages exist.
Selecting an item displays:
- The materials that will be consumed
- A confirmation dialogue
- An option to create one
- An option to create every possible item
- A completion dialogue showing the created item
The following equipment can be created:
- Crystal helm
- Crystal body
- Crystal legs
- Crystal bow
- Crystal shield
- Crystal halberd
- Blade of Saeldor
- Bow of Faerdhinen
- Corrupted Blade of Saeldor
- Corrupted Bow of Faerdhinen
- Enhanced crystal keys
Crafting crystal equipment awards both Crafting and Smithing XP at ten times the corresponding OSRS rate.
Corrupting an inactive Blade of Saeldor or Bow of Faerdhinen does not award XP.
Multiple copies of charged crystal equipment may be created and owned. Copies of the same equipment type share one charge pool.
Crystal equipment
Crystal equipment now has its proper requirements, equipment bonuses, charge mechanics and combat effects.
This includes the Crystal bow, shield, halberd and armour set, alongside the Blade of Saeldor and Bow of Faerdhinen.
Blade of Saeldor:
A fast level-80 melee weapon positioned above PkHonor’s custom whips while remaining below the Scythe of Vitur against suitable targets.
Bow of Faerdhinen:
A level-80 ranged weapon that does not require ammunition. Crystal armour improves both its accuracy and damage through individual piece bonuses and its complete set effect.
The bow is intended to compete around the level of the Zaryte crossbow while remaining below the Twisted bow against high-magic targets.
Crystal halberd:
A two-handed melee weapon with an implemented special attack, offering additional reach and multi-target potential.
Crystal equipment correctly consumes charges during combat. Eligible equipment becomes inactive, discharges or reverts to its seed when lost on death, depending on the item.
Inactive crystal weapons, Crystal armour seeds and Enhanced crystal weapon seeds are tradeable.
Crystal recolouring
Lliann has opened
Lliann’s Wares at her original location in Prifddinas.
She sells elven clan crystals for
500M coins each. These crystals can recolour:
- Corrupted Blade of Saeldor
- Corrupted Bow of Faerdhinen
- Crystal helm
- Crystal body
- Crystal legs
Available clan colours include Ithell, Iorwerth, Trahaearn, Cadarn, Crwys, Meilyr, Hefin and Amlodd.
Using a Meilyr crystal on Crystal armour restores its default blue appearance.
The Bow of Faerdhinen’s projectile and impact graphics also change to match the selected bow colour.
Elven Crystal Chest
Enhanced crystal keys can now be used on the Elven Crystal Chest in Prifddinas.
Enhanced keys have a teleport option that takes you directly to the chest and can be created at the Singing Bowl using a Crystal key and Crystal shards.
Every chest provides:
- 20M–40M coins
- 3–6 noted uncut dragonstones
- 15–30 Crystal shards
- 30–60 PkHonor Points
- One weighted supply reward
Additional rewards include:
Blood shard — 1/100
Noted uncut onyx — 1/1,000
Any Dragonstone armour piece — 1/50
Each individual Dragonstone armour piece has an effective rate of 1/250.
The supply table can provide Crystal keys, uncut gems, Overloads, Super prayer potions, vials of blood, Runite bars, Rocktails, Ancient repair kits and Dragonkin lamps.
Chest openings have a dedicated completion counter and collection log. Item rewards and awarded PkHonor Points are included in the chest’s transfer log.
Dragonstone armour
The complete Dragonstone armour set has been implemented:
- Dragonstone full helm
- Dragonstone platebody
- Dragonstone platelegs
- Dragonstone boots
- Dragonstone gauntlets
Dragonstone armour has full equipment bonuses, Defence requirements, noted variants and trade support.
The complete set can be packed into and unpacked from a Dragonstone armour set, and every piece can be stored in the Armour Case inside a player-owned house.
All five pieces have dedicated Elven Crystal Chest collection-log slots.
Prifddinas Agility Course
The Prifddinas Agility Course is now functional and can be accessed from the teleport interface at level 75 Agility.
The course includes working obstacles, correct height transitions, shortcut portals, lap tracking, Agility XP, Marks of grace and Crystal-shard rewards.
Its base XP is balanced alongside the Wilderness Agility Course:
- 56,000 XP from the course obstacles
- 50,000 XP upon completing the lap
- 106,000 base XP per complete lap
Shortcut portals can appear along the route and transport you past part of the course. Every portal has an explicitly configured destination height to prevent players from being placed in the air.
Using a portal awards
3–4 Crystal shards.
Wearing the complete Elven outfit doubles this to
6–8 Crystal shards.
Every completed lap awards one Mark of grace. Using a portal also provides an independent 1/5 chance of finding an additional Mark of grace.
Dark acorn — 1/1,000 per completed lap
Using a Dark acorn on a Giant squirrel permanently unlocks its Dark squirrel metamorphosis. The normal and lucky squirrels can freely transform between their Giant and Dark forms once unlocked. The Dark acorn also has a dedicated Prifddinas Agility Course collection-log slot.
Elven outfit rewards
Lady Carys Hefin can be found near the ground-level entrance to the Prifddinas Agility Course.
She operates the Prifddinas Agility Rewards shop, which uses Marks of grace as currency.
Elven boots — 75 Marks
Elven gloves — 50 Marks
Elven top (white) — 150 Marks
Elven skirt (white) — 125 Marks
Elven top (yellow) — 150 Marks
Elven skirt (yellow) — 125 Marks
Elven top (blue) — 150 Marks
Elven legwear (blue) — 125 Marks
Elven top (purple) — 150 Marks
A wearable four-piece outfit costs
400 Marks of grace.
Every equipped outfit category provides a 2.5% Agility XP bonus. Wearing boots, gloves, a top and legwear together provides a total
15% Agility XP bonus and doubles Crystal shards obtained from portals.
All nine Elven items in the shop have collection-log slots and can be stored in the Magic Wardrobe inside a player-owned house.
Purchasing an item immediately unlocks its corresponding collection-log entry.
Amrod’s seed exchange
Amrod can now be found at his original location in Prifddinas.
He exchanges unnoted crystal seeds for the following quantities of Crystal shards:
Crystal weapon seed — 10 shards
Crystal armour seed — 250 shards
Enhanced crystal weapon seed — 1,500 shards
You may exchange either one seed or every eligible seed in your inventory. These high-value conversions are transfer logged.
